Keith and Hannah and I walking on the Salt Flats (12,000 square kilometers -- endless in every direction . . . the plain white plain made me nostalgic for Antarctica)

A close up of one of the photogenic cacti living on an island in the middle of the plain white plainness (the high-altitude light throughout the trip was maniacally bright, so even with a filter and adjusted white balance and the ISO 100 film program most shots still look a little washed out . . . the close-ups were occasionally an exception.)
