My buddy Keith is visiting Carmen Pampa this week -- his first time in South America, which is remarkable considering he pilots 747s all over the world every month. We've had a fine time -- hiking through fog, teaching my class in the clouds, tracking down banana trees and coca plants, trying to help with the coffee harvest and cooking a big Italian meal for the house. Here we are in the back of a dump truck full of sand hitching a ride from Coroico to Carmen Pampa. Tomorrow we take off for the Salar de Uyuni Salt Flats in southern Bolivia. Thanks to cousin Steph's advice about white balance, I hope to take some beauty shots there . . .
