A little over three miles and a good several hundred vertical feet will bring you and yours from Forest Road 475 to the top of Looking Glass Rock in Pisgah National Forest. Yesterday such was the case with Earthquake, Ginger, MacHarg, Peachy, Aarti and me. It looked a little something like this -- though not, naturally, in sepia tones.

In a mere 48 hours I'll be back in Cambridge, fully unpacking my car for the first time since early June. Until then, I'm soaking up what I can in Durham and DC.

Dear Zac-

I’m hoping you remember me from 4-H Expressive Arts Camp. I found some old camp photos, got curious, and Googled your name. That’s how I found your blog. You amazed and inspired me in 1986 & still do today. I even keep a list of quotes you sent in, oh, 1991 & read them when I need a little pick me up. And I’m sure you know all of us girls had giant crushes on you.

I am coming to Cambridge in two weeks to visit old friends. I lived there ten (gasp!) years ago. I would really like to see you – I think it’s been at least 13 years. How can we get in touch? I feel a bit funny posting this on your blog, but I didn’t know how else to contact you.

Hope to see you soon,

Kara Weeks

Kara! Of COURSE I remember you! I moderate the comments here to avoid spam, so post a message with your e-mail -- I'll see it but then 'reject' it so it's never published. Only I will see it -- and then we'll be able to get in touch. I'm at a wedding all weekend, but I'll see it for sure next week. Can't wait to reconnect! Thanks for finding me!

Peace,
ZMW
